Caprese salad is a simple Italian salad, made of sliced fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and sweet basil, seasoned with salt, olive oil, or balsamic vinaigrette. It features the colours of the Italian flag: green, white, and red and is named after the island of Capri, where it is believed to have originated. Here is Forno De Minas delicious innovation!
2 cups cherry tomatoes, halved
1 TBSP balsamic vinegar
1 garlic clove, minced
2 TBSP olive oil
1 package Forno de Minas Cheese Rolls, cooked and quartered
8 oz fresh mozzarella balls
1 cup fresh basil
Salt and pepper
1. Cook the Cheese Rolls as directed on the package and then set them aside to cool. Once cooled cut them into quarters.
2. In a bowl toss together the cherry tomatoes, basil, mozzarella balls, the Cheese Rolls quarters, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Drizzle the balsamic over the top and serve with some more fresh basil.
