Men Emasculated by Gluten-Free Diet

When it comes to most chronic health problems, men are typically less likely to seek out a doctor. Even when  diagnosed with celiac disease,  men are less likely to follow a gluten-free diet because they feel embarrassed about ordering a burger without a bun.

While it seems acceptable for women to pick and choose, men tend to feel stigmatized if they appear to be too discerning. Research commissioned by Newburn Bakehouse, a U.K.-based gluten-free bread company, found that men who order beer without barley feel they my not be perceived as showing enough brawn.  We need a way to make gluten-free quiche sexy!
