“What is tomato jam? It’s a thick, intensely tomato-flavoured condiment that is delicious enough to

spread on your favourite burger (you’ll never use ketchup again)
serve up on a fresh (gluten-free) baguette
toast point with cheese
toss into pasta with some fresh parmesan shavings
add to your homemade soup to elevate it to a whole new level
eat it all by itself right out of the jar. It should come with a warning on the label: “highly addictive.”

“I have to be honest here and tell you that this recipe is courtesy of my sister-in-law, Ros Scott. I love this salad for many reasons: it is colourful, quick to prepare, super healthy and the dressing is to die for!

There are a number of ingredients in this recipe that are part of the top 100 healthiest foods list. First of all, we have the fresh local spinach that is readily available at markets this time of year. Spinach is among the top greens for folate, and it contains high amounts of vitamin A, iron, potassium, calcium, zinc, and selenium, which offers antioxidant protection and supports thyroid function.” See recipe here

“When I think of spring, lamb and asparagus come to mind! The Galloping Goose Sausage Co. in Metchosin makes excellent herbed lamb sausages. They are gluten- , MSG- and preservative free. We are fortunate here at the Deep Cove Market to be able to carry fresh asparagus from Raphael at Guités Farm on Oldfield Road. I’m a big fan of easy one-dish meals, so I have combined a number of items I carry here at the Market into one entrée. This dish could easily become gluten free by substituting the pasta with a rice pasta or quinoa. I also think the lemon cooking sauce would pair nicely with chicken if you are not a lamb fan. We carry farm-fresh, free-range, antibiotic-free chicken from Kildonan Farms located right here in North Saanich. Gluten-free baked goods will be available for purchase and store shelves will be well stocked with freshly milled flours, All Purpose Flour, Pancake Mix and the GF spices. Whole gluten-free grains will also be available for purchase, along with organic fresh eggs, organic, single-forest Maple Syrup, recyclable egg cartons, cook books & so much more.

Millstone Farm’s extensive line of organic flours are stone-milled in a dedicated gluten-free facility.
Grains can be milled up to 3 times to ensure that the flour contains the entirety of the grain.
Gluten-free oats are milled in a separate mill in order to protect celiacs who cannot tolerate even pure oats.
Whole, unmilled grains are also available for purchase.
Organic spices, sourced from organic suppliers from around the world, are milled to order for optimal aroma and taste, then stored in light-impenetrable, miron glass.
All-purpose and pancake mixes are created in house and are xanthan gum free.
Also at the store: organic fresh eggs, organic, single-forest maple syrup, recyclable egg cartons, cook books & so much more.
Coming soon – an outdoor cob oven for rustic, gluten-free baking! Think cinnamon buns and pizza!

📣 Millstone Farm & Organics is calling on volunteers to decorate Gluten-Free Sugar Cookies in their dedicated Gluten-Free Farm Shop!

Sunday November 20th, 2022 11am to 3pm
Sunday December 11th, 2022 11am to 3pm

RSVP HERE! Canned goods or non-perishable items will be graciously accepted for the Mustard Seed.

The first batch of cookies will be handed out at the Greater Victoria Santa Claus Parade on November 26th, 2022.

The second batch will be added to the Mustard Seed Christmas Hampers which will be distributed mid-December.

Every attendee will be entered into a draw to win a set of Eco Cloths. There will be one draw per event date.

Seasonal gluten-free baked goods will be available for purchase and store shelves will be well stocked with freshly milled flours, All Purpose Flour, Pancake Mix and the GF spices. Whole gluten-free grains will also be available for purchase, along with organic fresh eggs, organic, single-forest Maple Syrup, recyclable egg cartons, cook books & so much more.

Millstone Farm will continue to collect food donations for the Mustard Seed throughout November and December! Food donations should be canned goods or non-perishable items. Donation drop offs are welcome any time during shop hours:
Thursday – Saturday, 10am – 5pm.

Millstone Farm’s extensive line of organic flours are stone-milled in a dedicated gluten-free facility.
Grains can be milled up to 3 times to ensure that the flour contains the entirety of the grain.
Gluten-free oats are milled in a separate mill in order to protect celiacs who cannot tolerate even pure oats.
Whole, unmilled grains are also available for purchase.
Organic spices, sourced from organic suppliers from around the world, are milled to order for optimal aroma and taste, then stored in light-impenetrable, miron glass.
All-purpose and pancake mixes are created in house and are xanthan gum free.
Also at the store: organic fresh eggs, organic, single-forest maple syrup, recyclable egg cartons, cook books & so much more.
Coming soon – an outdoor cob oven for rustic, gluten-free baking! Think cinnamon buns and pizza!

Millstone Farm is excited to welcome Sam Jones—founder of the island-born coffee roastery 2% Jazz. For over 25 years, Sam has been committed to sourcing, roasting and brewing exceptional craft coffee. Beginning as an outdoor kiosk in downtown Victoria, 2% Jazz has grown to become a community staple—renowned for the quality of its coffee and the warm and welcoming atmosphere of its indoor cafe.

On May 30th, join Millstone Farm for an evening all about coffee as Sam takes us on a journey from bean to brew. Learn how coffee is grown, sourced, roasted and brewed—and how to make the perfect cup at home!

After the presentation, enjoy a coffee tasting, a selection of gluten-free pastries and the musical ambiance of wes rd wraggett on Jazz Guitar! Coffee beans will be available for purchase, packaged and in bulk, along with Miron glass jars for storing the beans in maximum freshness and shelf life.

Grains can be milled up to 3 times to ensure that the flour contains the entirety of the grain.
Gluten-free oats are milled in a separate mill in order to protect celiacs who cannot tolerate even pure oats.
Whole, unmilled grains are also available for purchase.
Organic spices, sourced from organic suppliers from around the world, are milled to order for optimal aroma and taste, then stored in light-impenetrable, miron glass.
All-purpose and pancake mixes are created in house and are xanthan gum free.
Also at the store: organic fresh eggs, organic, single-forest maple syrup, recyclable egg cartons, cook books & so much more.
Coming soon – an outdoor cob oven for rustic, gluten-free baking! Think cinnamon buns and pizza!
